"Seven matches of the blues, of which only two are host matches, will be broadcasted directly. We
succeeded to agree record-breaking amounts for TV rights for a match of USD 10-11 000. This ranks
us fourth in our region, far before countries like Russia, Croatia, Serbia and others. In contrast
to the matches of the European club tournaments we decided to divide the income from TV rights
70:30 in favor of the host team. Years ago we started from BGN 2-3 000 for a match, and now it is
USD 10-11 000. Let us hope that during the next season the amount will be at least USD 15 000",
Mihov said. He added that the Professional Football League (PFL), he is President of PFL, also
ensures an additional premium of BGN 50 000 for the champion of Bulgaria. Most of the matches from
season 2006-2007 from the championship of “A” group were bought by BNT. The state media will
broadcast 30 matches from the championship and five more from the tournament for the Cup of
Bulgaria. It is expected that another television – “Nova television” will also take a package of
matches and will probably broadcast 8 matches from the autumn part of the championship and 8
matches from the spring part. The cable television “Evrocom Plovdiv” has also bought 3 matches from
the championship. According to Mihov the premium for a match at “Nova television” will be USD 8000,
but not USD 10-11 000 as it is for a match at BNT. For the matches at “Evrokom Bulgaria” the teams
will share USD 6000. Simultaneously CSKA gained the son of the national selectionist of Romania
Victor Picurka – Aleksandru. The 22 years old footballer arrived yesterday evening in Bulgaria and
signed an agreement with the reds till June 30, next year. Picurka is a central forward and during
the last season he has been in “Universitatja” (Krajova). He is 1.88 cm high and 79 kg. He has wore
the equipments of “Steaua” (Bucharest) and the German “Regensburg” in his career.
