He shared the following: I am happy about Krasimir Gergov’s desire to work for the purpose of
increasing the revenues from TV rights for the clubs. It is nice when businessmen like him are
interested in our sport. Personally I have wanted meetings a few times with Krasimir Gergov as a
person, who can help. This was at the time when he was not interested in football. Now he is among
us and this is very nice. I am happy about his help. As far as it concerns the price of the
football product – the main factor for its forming is the quality of the play indisputably.
The big money is in the championships with a really qualitative football and notice that it
comes from about, while the Bulgarian championship has not sold a match abroad for many years.
Namely this stands in our way and does not allow us to increase the revenues for the teams. The
money from TV rights and advertising are really modest at present. We cannot compare with the
championships in England, Italy, Spain. Some people deny it, but we have a small increase in the
money as well. Eight years ago we started with USD 400 000, now the TV rights are sold at USD 620
000. But I say it again – the big money will come from abroad, the potential of our internal market
is not so great.
