"Together against violence"
On February 28, at 4.00 p.m. in the metropolitan complex “Tsarsko selo” will be lead a round
table on the subject “Together against violence in football“. Initiator of the undertaking are the
publisher of Don Balon Iliana Raeva and the President of PFL Valentin Mihov, as the idea arises
after the tragic incident in Italy a few weeks ago, when at the Sicilian derby Katania – Palermo
died the policeman Filipo Rakiti and over 100 football fans were injured. The main purpose of the
meeting is to be taken measures in time, in order to be stopped eventual future eccessions at
Bulgarian stadiums, as well as to be discussed in details the problems with the football
hooliganism in the country, the case with the bases and the Law on Sport. Numerous persons of high
standing will be at the round table and also many Presidents of football clubs, as well as experts
in the theme from abroad. The Minister of Interior Rumen Petkov, Boiko Borisov – Mayor of Sofia,
the Financial Minister Plamen Oresharski, the President of BFU Borislav Mihailov and the
Chair-person of SAYS Vesela Lecheva will express their opinion for solving the problem. Especially
for the meeting will arrive Alan Hubard, doyen of sports journalism in England and present
columnist of the prestige newspaper “Independent“, who will share his experience of many years from
the activities against football hooliganism on the Island, as well as the expert from the German
bureau for fight against.
At the round table are also invited representatives of the biggest fan clubs in the country.
