Don Balon magazine, PFL and BFU summoned: "Together against violence"

Today in press club “Bulgaria” of the National stadium “Vasil Levski” was lead a special press conference, organized by Don Balon and PFL on the occasion of the initiative “Together against violence”. The campaign and its organizers shared that they have the support of BFU and all sports medias in our country. At the press conference were the President of PFL Valentin Mihov, the publisher of Don Balon Iliana Raeva and the President of BFU Borislav Mihailov, who acquainted the journalists with details about the themes, which will be discussed at the round table in two days. As it is known, on 28 February in the metropolitan complex “Tsarsko selo” at 4.00 p.m. will be lead the biggest discussion about football hooliganism. At the round table will be the Minister of Interior Rumen Petkov, the Vice Minister of Interior Kamen Penkov, Boiko Borisov – Mayor of Sofia, Vesela Lecheva – Chair person of SAYS, members of the Executive Committee, the owners of the football clubs, as well as the special guest Alan Hubard – English journalist. The President of PFL Valentin Mihov and the President of BFU Borislav Mihailov shared at the press conference the following:
"If we do not pass a Law on football hooliganism, there will be not concrete results. Bulgaria should follow the example of the measures that are brought into use in England and Germany. “There is a law, which guarantees specific measures and a person may feel at matches as if he/she is to the theatre”, he added. To his opinion the Ministry of Interior should be given full authority at stadiums, in order once for all to be solved the problem with hooligans. As far as it concerns the problem with sports bases, it should be solved with more specific measures than the ones taken so far. The President of the League added that if the bases under concession drop off, he will be uncompromising with regard to the licences during the next season and many of the teams will not have stadiums, where to play the host matches. "In the end it will so happen that ten teams will play at five stadiums because of the licences", he added.
"Hooliganism is the main problem of the sports society in Bulgaria" Borislav Mihailov started his speech. "Till the present moment BFU restricts itself only to imposing disciplinary punishments, when the incident has already happened”, he added. To his opinion because of this there should be taken preventive, concrete measures. “The problem with the sports bases have to be solved as well, because when there is an incident, the clubs justify themselves that the basis is not theirs and thus we go round in a vicious circle”, he announced. Borislav Mihailov also said that BFU would take part into a programme, which is financed by UEFA, for prevention in the clubs that will help the Bulgarian football.
